What is called a Death Note booklet, was recently compiled by a 7th grade Griswold Middle School student which allegedly listed names of other students in the school. “Death Note” happens to be a Japanese comic. As the story goes, any person’s name in the book is supposed to perish. It’s a story about an ace student with great prospects–and he’s bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the “Death Note,” a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god, and now the student has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. However, the school administration didn’t see it that way and neither did the Connecticut State Police. Wolverine Radio asked Superintendent of Schools, Paul Smith if the Griswold Student was simply trying to be creative even in a dark sense….
The student is not in school for the rest of the year and Smith says “there is no reason to think that we are anything but safe at this time.”
